This scrappy afghan shows off an interesting mix of yarn textures. There are several colors of Simply Soft, which has a lovely sheen, a coral chenille, and a bright orange with a little sparkle. I planned its color mix around a small ball of variegated yarn.

Other than the casual spacing of the rows of variegated, this ripple’s colors and stripes were decided while I was crocheting it. I had made no plans and enjoyed watching it develop as I crocheted.
