2012 Little Ripple of the Week #5 – Purple Waves

Another little ripple, just 31″ x 50″, from my blanket stash, crocheted with four shades of purple. I vaguely remember getting the idea of swapping one color at a time from a yellow/pink/blue striped baby blanket I saw in a library book.

9,424 stitches – 798,107 donated since Jan. 2011

I think my results are interesting enough to justify revisiting this method. I searched Ravelry today, hoping to find other blankets with similar color changes, and I was surprised when I found none!

Lucy, of Attic24, makes much speedier color transitions in this ripple. Isn’t it stunning? Obviously, you can use as many colors as you like!

Your “early works” are great…love this purple one!

    and I replied:

    Thank you.
It’s odd to remember so little about something you made! I keep better notes now. lol.

Another awesome blanket. I think the lightest is lavender, either RH or One Pound.

    And I replied:

    Thank You!
I checked the color against some Lavender RH and that’s not a match. But I noticed a difference in the feel of it, so you’re probably right with the One Pounder Caron. Thanks for the idea.
