I tried out three new ripple patterns in November!
My Express V-Stitch Ripple – “V is for Victory”,
Jacob’s Ladder Ripple – “Bobble-less #2”,
and Eyelet Ripple – “Iris Garden”. . .
were all part of the Ripple Mania CAL organized by Marie Segares, crochet designer and author of the Underground Crafter blog. I entered them in the CAL’s giveaway hoping, hoping, hoping that I might win one of the incredible prizes gathered for Saturday’s drawing!!
Well, I won not just one, but FIVE prizes! Whoo-whee!! Five wonderful ripple pattern books from Leisure Arts:
1. 40 Favorite Ripple Afghans (the book’s Ravelry page), 2. Rippling Effects (Ravelry) 3. Beauty of the Earth Afghans
, 4. Vanna’s Choice Color It Beautiful Afghans
(Ravelry), and 5. Ripple Afghans to Crochet
(Ravelry).
Since I already have 40 Favorite Ripple Afghans and Rippling Effects in my crochet library, I decided to spread the ripple joy around and offered them back to Marie so she can draw another winner or two from among the CAL’s entries. It’ll be fun to see how the new winner(s) react(s), since the prize drawing was supposedly completed on Saturday! tee hee.
I’m anxious to get my hands on the other three books. My interest is particularly piqued by the “Ocean Waves” ripple on the front cover of Beauty of the Earth Afghans and the “Peaceful Ripple“ in Ripple Afghans to Crochet, but I can hardly wait to moon over all my new ripple patterns!!! Soon. They’ll be here soon.
Oh, was that the mailman I just heard?. . . I’d better go check the box!
Congrats My Friend, so happy for you:)
Thank You, Renee. What a fun surprise this prize is!
Wish we could sit down together, with a Big cup of coffee for you and Cold glass of something fruity for me, and look through them All!
If there is anyone who deserves this, it is YOU my friend!!! I can’t wait to see what you make with these new patterns!! When I was looking at the pics of the afghans that you made, I would say OHH, that’s my fav, then I would look at the 2nd one, Ohh no, THAT one is my fav, then the 3rd. Dang, I LOVE them allllllll!!!!!!
Oh, thank you Allyson, you say the nicest things! 🙂
Although I don’t think I’ll ever try three new patterns in such close succession again – what was I thinking!??!!?! – I look forward to having so many new ripple options close at hand.
God is blessing you for all the wonderful items you make for charity! So happy for you.
Sharon
Yes, I am blessed and with far more than my new ripple patterns. As a ready example, look at this wonderful outpouring of encouragement from my on-line friends!!!
It incites me to go crochet a few more rows on my Christmas ripple in progress. 🙂
Yay, congratulations! I’m actually mailing them out today media mail, so the books should get to you soon.
Thank you for your promptness. 🙂
Until they arrive I shall practice patience; I promise to check my mailbox only once a day.
If you’ve never seen The Music Man, I apologize, as this will make little sense, but I learned a song back in grade school that is perfect for this situation. . . (singing while typing), “O-ho , the Wells Fargo Wagon is a-coming down the street, Oh, please let it be for me!. . .”
If you care to sing along with me as I so patiently wait, LOL, the rest of the lyrics are here.
Congratulations, Linda! More yarn … always a “Good Thing”! 😀
Thank You, Verneta!
But there’s no yarn for me this time – my prize is the group of five lovely Leisure Art pattern books in the second photo of the prize list. The Red Heart yarn/book/tote bag package, Lion Brand yarn and Eleggant crochet hooks went to three other lucky ripplers.
I am so happy you won, you certainly deserve all the prizes, but it is one of your numerous virtues – you are generous and honest and you didn’t accept the books you already have, so joy be spred to another lucky person. Congratulation for prizes!
Thank you, you’re very kind to think so well of me.
I look forward to enjoying my prize, three new ripple pattern books!
A well-deserved win! Congratulations and have fun with your new books.
This is wonderful! I’m so happy for you! You do such beautiful work, it’s great to have others recognize that.
