Pizza for Christmas

Since I finished the Ninja play set with a little time to spare, I decided to also crochet a few slices of pizza, the favorite food of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Working with a size E hook and fingering weight acrylic yarns from my baby yarn stash, I made the pizza cheese and pepperoni slices in Lion Brand’s Pepperoni Pizza Garland pattern. My crusts and black olives came from Morbid Sparks’ Pizza. That ball of red will soon become tomato sauce, also from the Lion Brand pattern.

My pizza slices came out about five inches long, just the right size to fit two-across in a gallon-sized Ziploc, which we topped with another of DH’s beautifully laid-out labels.

Merry Christmas, Jayden!

I absolutely Loved making this!! – Just look at the way the sauce undulates against the ‘rim’ of the pizza’s crust! so clever. It’s really amazing what you can make with the help of well-written patterns – and they were both free!

Combining both patterns really created a more realistic pizza slice. Love the professional labels…and they are beautiful. Very nice touch with ‘oven fresh’. You two make a great team. Kudos to both of you.
