No Longer Plain Pink

Ready to add a border to that solid PINK blanket I found at Sal’s a few weeks ago,

I went shopping among the many variegated yarns Karen of MA sent me.

I found a pretty pink/mocha/cream combination, . . . – This One ↑ – which coordinates very nicely. – Yarn fairy, Sandi of MD, has informed me that it’s RHSS ‘Pink Camo’. . .  Thanks, Sandi! –

This blanket is loosely crocheted. Using a size J hook I alternated crocheting 1 and 2 dcs in each stitch making a soft yet substantial-feeling border. As I worked my way round I laughed and shook my head at how often I had to rip back. I would never have thought crocheting as simple a pattern as “1 dc, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat” would be a problem for me, but whenever my mind wandered for even a second my hands automatically reverted to the norm of 1 dc per stitch. tsk.

Finishing the border off with a round of cream would have looked Great, but, knowing how a kid’s blanket is likely to get dragged about, I prefer a medium to dark edge. A little RHSS ‘Light Raspberry’ did the job.
