Decisions, Decisions
I’ve finished 112 of the 160 squares I need for my child-sized granny afghan. Phew!! Now just forty-eight more to go! While crocheting all these squares I eliminated several variegated yarns, some too dark, some too high of contrast (containing … Continue reading

Assorted Treasures
I collected an interesting assortment of treasures along my usual errand route the other day. My first stop was at the library, where the charity group has an exchange box, to drop off two more ripple afghans. There was a … Continue reading
Ripple of the Week #21
While I was making it, my DH and I both thought this ripple’s colors were all about daffodils and red tulips. But on the day I went out in the yard to photograph it I realized they’re really about primroses! … Continue reading

Ripple of the Week #20
This ripple really surprised me. I never visualized such a bold end result while I was designing its grey and blue stripes on paper! The near perfect match between the charcoal yarn and the black top surface I photographed it … Continue reading

Some Grannies Have Gotta Go
I’m really pleased with how my granny is going. I’ve crocheted over thirty squares using several different variegated yarns, and they seem quite happy together, except for the two I’ve set aside. Maybe it’s the dark navy and forest solid … Continue reading

Ends, Ends and More Ends
I only crocheted a few granny squares before I realized I’m going to have six yarn ends to deal with per square! Groan. My little granny squares are just three and a half inches; I need 160 (10 squares by … Continue reading
